Hey curvy girls all over the world,
This week is going to be super busy because I will be at Mercedes Benz fashion week. I’ll be taking in the celebrity sights and amazing Fall clothes from some of your favorite designers. This will be my second time attending fashion week and I’m way more prepared than I was last year this time. I got all my handy dandy tools which include my Nikon S570, Blackberry, and my RCA tape recorder. I’m all charged up and even have backup chargers and memory cards.
Tonight, I will be picking out my wardrobe for the next couple of days and of course, I have my flats with me in my bag ready to put on at the pinch of a toe. I do not play when my feet hurt so I have no problem changing into my flats in the ladies room or by the sidewalk behind someones car (yes, I’m shameless like that).
I will be bringing you coverage from all the shows I’ll be attending. I also have my video camera with me to bring you exclusive videos and interviews. I’m also hoping to spot some super fly curvy girls under the tents to give you that raw NY curvy girl street style.
Kicking off fashion week this year is the Heart Truth Red Dress fashion show which I will be at tonight. This is one of my favorite shows because celebrities come together to spread the word about heart disease. The Heart Truth show is a major fashion show because celebrities walk the catwalk in red dresses designed by new and seasoned designers.

Hey curvy girls!
Last week I was afforded the opportunity to go The Heart Truth Red Dress collection Fashion Show. You know the show where celebrities wear red dresses to help warn women about the effects of heart disease. Well, I must tell you that the show rocked. Celebrities from Regina King to Kim Kardashian strutted their stuff down the runway. Of course two of our favorite young curvy girls- Raven Symone and Jordin Sparks was there representing for us. Here’s a little recap of my 5th row seat inside the show:
Excitement and anticipation filled the air once Lady Gaga’s bad romance blared from the speakers. You could see heads bopping and necks stretching to see the first celebrity-Pushing Daisies star Kristin Chenowith walk down the runway in her Swarovski gown. As the celebrities walked down the runway, a large screened displayed their names and the designer dress they were wearing. American Idol winner Jordin Sparks and Cosby show alum Raven Symone were giving major diva attitude as they sashayed down the runway with their curvaceous hips swinging left to right. At the end of her walk, Raven Symone tossed her head back and kicked off her shoes into the crowd before she left the runway. One of the most surprising celebrities to see was Bethany Frankel from Bravos Real Housewives of New York, gracing the runway with her pregnant belly in tow. As she was walking, her dress kept riding up her leg and the audience got a peek at her undergarments. The second most surprising moment of the night was seeing true diva, Joan Collins gracefully walk down the runway as the crowd cheered in admiration.
No strangers to the runway, and new moms, Heidi Klum and Kimora Lee both looked great after just having babies. Kimora wore a strapless knee length dress from her new Kouture collection and Heidi’s gown was designed by John Galliano. Kim Kardashian showed off her curves in a Marchesa one shoulder gown and singer Estelle gave a bashful smile in Zac Posen. My favorite celebrity of the night was Regina King who showed the runway who was boss with her bold and sassy walk in a fitted ruched mini dress. As the show came to an end, a shower of red confetti fell from the ceiling while all the beautiful celebrities came back out for their final walk. It was nice to see these powerful celebrity women wearing their red dresses with pride- knowing that the message they are sending will save lives.
Note: For attending the show, I received a heart health gift bag filled with the heart health journey pin, a pencil case filled with band-aids, visine, neosporin lip protectant, a diet coke heart health straw, heart truth sport bottle, and a $10 coupon to use at RueLaLa.com/VIP
