>PERSONAL STYLE: FLUVIA LACERDA

>

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
SC loves seeing models on their off days because that’s when you get to see their true personal style. Whenever SC runs into plus size model Fluvia Lacerda she always looks stylish and chic. On Fluvia’s off days her hair is perfectly tousled, cheeks are rosy pink, and her eyes whether with or without makeup are bright as day.

Fluvia embraces her curves on and off camera. At events when she’s just being Fluvia your favorite girl next door, she wears romantic draped tops with feminine details like ruffles or lace. Her creamy complexion is a match made in heaven for jewel tones and bright bold lips.

When it comes to super casual days, Fluvia keeps things stylish even when she’s rocking something as simple as jeggings and a biker jacket or a denim shirt dress.

>STYLISH CURVES OF THE DAY:BRITTANY

>

Hey curvy girls all over the world,

Kicking of Stylish Curves of the day for the new year is Britanny from the blog Pockets and Bows. SC came across Brittany’s personal style blog awhile ago and became quite smitten with her eclectic style and just knew we had to share her with you guys. We like Brittany’s style because it’s trendy and playful. Brittany is not afraid to show off her curves in prints, bright colors, and unconventional shapes.

SC asked Brittany how does she embrace her curves and here is what she had to say:
“I embrace my curves by wearing what I like, not what people think I should wear. I never let my size keep me from wearing styles that I love! Of course you should make sure that you are wearing clothes that are appropriate for you body type and shape however, my philosophy is that if you wear what you love and with confidence, then others will have no choice but to respect it.”

When it comes to keeping her personal style up to date Brittany says, “I love to shop everywhere! The places that I frequent most are: Asos, Evans, New Look, Macys, and H&M.”

Checkout some of Brittany’s looks and be sure to checkout her personal style blog  Pockets and Bows if you haven’t already.

>

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Today’s Stylish Curves of the day is from JuJu in Brooklyn.
Heres how JuJu embraces her curves:
I love to see when plus size women like my self embrace their curves. Some females tend to think having curves is a bad thing but not me. I love my curves and embrace it everyday when I shop I always look for clothes that I will feel comfortable in and also cute… I love when I step out and all eyes are on me.  Makes me feel so beautiful… I also love when women ask me where i get my outfit from. I love clothes from Torrid, Ashley, and Fashion to Figure. They always have clothes that are CUTE,COMFORTABLE and makes me feel CONFIDENT… The three C’s I live by when getting dressed…
Well JuJu, your confidence shows in your pictures and your looks are trendy and curve embracing. I personally love that black dress and those ripped leggings. Thanks for representing the Brooklyn curvy girls.
What do you guys think of JuJu’s looks?

>STYLISH CURVY GIRL OF THE DAY: TOCCARA JONES

>

Hey curvy girl’s all over the world,

Stylish curvy girl of the day is the the beautiful Toccara Jones. The former ANTM contestant’s career has been keeping her busy lately. She showed up at the Essence offices looking sweet and simple in a cute white geometric print dress and nude peep toe pumps. If you have been keeping up with this beauty then you’ve noticed her new look. I am loving the new hair. I think the long and wavy style works well with her features and gives her a romantic look.

Are you feeling Toccara’s sweet and simple look?

STYLISH CURVES OF THE DAY, IVORY

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Today’s stylish curves of the day is Ivory from LA. I spotted Ivory over on The Fashion Bomb’s website after SC reader Asha tweeted me to take a look at The Bombshell of the day. (Sorry, I had to jack the bombshell of the day FB but she was just too fly of a curvy girl to pass up). After checking out Ivy’s style, I knew I had to have her on Stylish Curves, so, since I am not shy, I immediately contacted her and asked her to send in her pics.

Checkout Ivy’s fashion resume

Here’s how Ivory says she embraces her curves:
I embrace my curves by wearing clothes that make me feel good. I strongly believe in that saying “When you look good, you feel good.” Being curvy/thick/fat/voluptuous, whatever you may call it has it’s fashion challenges, but I LOVE the challenge. I love when people do a double take and are “surprised” on how “well I dress”. I love being curvy and honestly wouldn’t trade it for anything else…

I love how Ivory embraces her curves with body con dresses. Most importantly she wears her clothes with confidence and her spirit reads, I love my body. With her bright smile Ivy wears her curves beautifully.

Thanks for submitting Ivory!

STYLISH CURVES OF THE DAY:CHRISTINA

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Today’s stylish curvy girl is Christina from New York.
I contacted Christina to send in her pictures because I truly love her style and sense of fashion. Christina’s style is eclectic. It’s girlie, romantic, and edgy. As an editorial assistant for HoneyMag.com Christina knows a thing or two about style. She also writes a wonderful fashion blog called Love Brown Sugar, which I read every time she posts something new. Oh, and she has a thing for Kelsi Dagger shoes too (sounds familiar!).

I asked Christina how she embraces her curves and this is what she had to say:

“As a curvy fashionista, I always look for pieces that accentuate my positive points and won’t make me uncomfortable. In the fall/winter, I tend to live in black leggings and standout blazers/tops, but come summer it’s all about the one-piece! This summer in particular, I’m really into rompers and floral prints. I’m also loving printed mini-skirts with pockets. I throw a black or white tank underneath and my favorite flats, and I’m good to go. In general, the best piece of advice I can give to all curvy fashionistas out there, is to wear confidence with every outfit. It’s my absolute favorite accessory. After all, when you look good you feel good, and vice versa!”

Well said Christina! Please be sure to checkout her blog Love Brown Sugar.

Remember, if you would like to be considered for Stylish Curves of the day, please email your pics to stylishcurves@gmail.com along with your name and location. Also, you must write a brief description of how you embrace your curves.
