Amber Riley is probably one of the most stylish curvy celebrities in the industry. She never misses a fashion beat. For the past month Amber has taken a break from her Tadashi Shoji dresses and has been rocking some super cute looks from Donna Morgan.
SC has been a fan of Donna Morgan dresses since my first black and white jersey dress I scored at Macy’s downtown Brooklyn a few years ago.
Donna Morgan offers chic and classic cocktail dresses in modern styles. The line goes up to a size 16 in straight sizes and I must say that her size 16’s are cut pretty generous. Her dresses run from about $100-$200 which is a pretty good price point since they’re made of good quality.
If you love the Donna Morgan dresses that Amber Riley is wearing then head over to Nordstroms to checkout more looks.
Also this post comes just in the nick of time because if you live in NYC Donna Morgan is having a sample sale over 65% off. The sample sale is from Dec. 9th-10th. Checkout the Donna Morgan facebook page HERE for more details.
Don’t waste time. You know you need a dress for those holiday party’s.

Last month designer Tasha Hill and plus size petite model Jeannie Ferguson showcased their Big Girls United clothing line. The collection was titled the Chameleon collection. A line that offers curvy girls stylish trendy pieces that showcase our curves. We like that the silhouettes are not boring and plays up curves. Most women plus or not shy away from harem pants and this collection embraces them. The collection has all the right details to flatter a curvy girls figure like draped dresses and a ruffled hem jacket. The collection brings out the girlie side of a woman with bright rich hues such as cobalt blue and magnetic purple. If you’re not a fan of bright colors, there are a few black pieces like the zippered sleeve dress to give you the edge that you need.
After seeing this bold trendy collection, Big Girls United is now on SC’s radar. You know we just love when clothing brands embrace curves in a stylish way. For more looks checkout BGU.
Lately we have been seeing a softer side of Serena Williams. She has been looking really good in lady like outfits that are flattering to a curvy woman’s body. In a recent interview the athletic bombshell revealed that she has insecurities about her body. She often feels like she is too muscular. I am wondering if this is the reason she has been choosing more dainty pieces for her athletic frame. Along with her new look Serena has a new hair do that includes bangs. The new do softens her face and highlights her pretty cheekbones. She looks much more relaxed.
If you want to get some of her looks check out some options below:
An A-line skirt is always a great choice for a larger bottom half. V-neck tops are also a great choice for ample or small breasts.
Sharp ruffle sleeve dresses are a hot item this season mainly due to tthe Balmain craze. People always tell curvy girls to stay away from straight dresses or skirts, but, I have always disagreed because who wants a closet full of empire waist dresses. If you want to show off your curves opt for an hourglass shaped dress.
Even Serena’s sporty look is still girly. A gray bomber jacket leggings with a sequin top is a great look for day or night.
