Yesterday was the last of my fashion week shows. I went to checkout Adrienne Landau who had some Aaaaaamazing furs. The weather was so mild yesterday that I decided to wear my gray strapless jumpsuit that I scored from ASOS. I haven’t finished tweaking this jumpsuit yet. It is a little big and I need to get it taken in. I haven’t had a chance to hit up my tailor so he could make it perfect, but, that didn’t stop me from wearing it anyway.  I wore my sequin waiter jacket (yes, again) from Nordstroms Sejour line with it to add a little glamour to my look. When it came to accessorizing I kept things minimal because I realized the lack of silver jewelry I have. All my accessories are gold. However, I did manage to find in my jewelry draw a black and silver bracelet, so I threw that on. I was excited to finally wear my black sequin pumps that I got on Ebay.
While checking out the luxurious furs at Adrienne Landau I ran into one of my fave stylists June Ambrose and she was nice enough to take a picture with me after I stopped acting like a groupie.
This weekend, I will be busy writing reviews of the shows I attended and enjoying the mild weather that we are supposed to be having.

This year fashion week has been crazy. Yesterday I checked out the Boy Meets Girl show at the Metropolitan Pavilion. I had to take my outfit pics in the morning because I didn’t want to lug my tripod around with me and sometimes asking random people to take your photo is a bit awkward, especially when they give you a little attitude or they just take a crappy photo.

I wanted my look to say magazine editor. I feel like when magazine editors sit front row at fashion week they always wear black and they rock a cool jacket for a chic look. They also almost always have on a pair of super high heels. So, that’s the look I went for.
I’m wearing my tweed jacket from the GAP (which is still available) and my absolute favorite skirt of the moment, a leather skirt that was gifted to me from Jessica London (yes, you heard right. And you will see more of this skirt) which is still available,  a sheer ruffled front blouse from Norma Kamali at Walmart, and my score of the month, a pair of Steve Madden suede blush pumps that I got at Century 21 for $17.49  .  My shades are from Forever21, watch from Guess (I love big man watches), and pearl necklace from American Eagle (gifted).
Check back this week for reviews on Boy Meets Girl, Farah Agsana, and Joy Cioci.

Recently I stopped by the Forever21 store in Times Square on a late night just to checkout what they had. The last time I went I was disappointed because I couldn’t find anything. I always feel like those spur of the moment shopping trips spawn the best pieces. Which was the case with this skirt. I was immediately attracted to the colors in this skirt and when I saw it had that color block effect, I was sold. The skirt is very clingy so I had to wear control top stockings so my cellulite wouldn’t show. I liked how bold the black and blue looked together, so, I wanted to continue with the black by wearing my fave pleather waterfall jacket and a black sheer top that I got from Torrid last year. This look infused a cool and sexy feeling within me.

After a week of running to shows then back to work and still making time for friends, I was excited for the weekend to come so I could relax. Yesterday I headed downtown to the Soho House to checkout some costume jewelry from some new designers and then I went to visit Marie Denee (The Curvy Fashionista) to just chat for a few minutes. Make sure you checkout Marie’s blog this week for some special exclusive footage at fashion week. I wanted to be comfortable for my travels so I kept things simple with a pair of biker jeans and a turtleneck. I wore my fedora because it was windy and I didn’t want my hair flying all over the place. The faux fur vest was an extra layer of warmth under my coat. I’ve really been into my bright pink lipstick and this time I didn’t wear any gloss over it, which I thought was still flattering to my complexion. This is definitely a typical look for me on the weekend.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Yesterday was a pretty busy day for me. I had to literally run back and forth to Lincoln Center from work just so I could check out the Joy Cioci show and the Farah Angsana show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. I wanted to keep things comfortable yet chic so I reached for my leopard print dress I got as a gift from Jessica London and my tab collar leather biker jacket from Style&CO. I threw on the red suede pumps to add a pop of color. I received tons of compliments on this look and a few paparazzi shots.
Show reviews coming this weekend.

I haven’t worn this leopard print faux fur coat in awhile. I think I’m still deciding if I like it or not. However, I put it on this weekend because I wanted to add a little spice to an all black outfit that I wore to an event.
I wore a pair of my favorite black trouser pants that was gifted to me from Sejour. They are straight leg trousers that hit at the waist to keep my little hero from looking like a muffin top. I’ve put on a little weight so they are a little more fitted (tight) than when I first got them. Nevertheless, they still fit. I was in an all black mood this weekend due to the stresses of my life. I now understand why celebs wear shades indoors. I was not in the mood for eye contact with anyone and kept my shades on. After a few minutes, I felt kind of silly with shades on inside. I wanted to get out of my funky mood and thought that wearing bright red would make me feel better, so I’m wearing my red suede shoes again and my red belt with a heart shape buckle.

It was somewhat of a nice weather weekend because there was no snow and the temperature wasn’t freezing below.
Hope you guys had a great weekend.

Yesterday I pulled out an old favorite, my tie neck blouse I bought last fall. I had an event to go to yesterday evening and I wanted to wear a top that was sheer and light enough to go under my sequin waiter jacket that was gifted to me from Nordstrom’s new plus collection Sejour. I also wore my pink lipstick from MAC, “Girl About Town” which I just love. I normally only put a dab on because I’m afraid of the brightness, but, after reading Coco and Creme’s article A New Era for the Darker Girl about dark skin women wearing bright makeup, I decided to put on a little more than usual so the color would show. What do you guys think, too much?

I had such a long day yesterday that I was glad I wore light pieces that were comfortable.  This snow is driving me crazy. I have to keep my heels in my bag for indoors and stomp around in my big old Timberland snow boots when traveling to and from. Hope you guys are hanging in there. I heard the groundhog saw his shadow and spring is coming early or is it the other way around? I don’t really believe in that, but after the weekly snow storms we’ve been having, I sure am hoping spring comes early and stays for awhile.
