Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Lanvin has released 4 looks from their H&M collection which very much resemble previous Fall and Spring runway looks from 2008 and 2009. These looks are super chic, classic, and sexy. Sizes vary when designers team up with H&M and I’m hoping that Lanvin atleast goes up to a size 16 ( I can hope can’t I?). The looks in the pictures are very stuctured so I’m hoping that there are a few forgiving pieces too.
The Lanvin collection will hit stores on Nov. 23 and by the looks of things this could be H&M’s biggest designer line.
Share with SC your thoughts on the looks.
>Hey curvy girls all over the world,
It’s been such an exciting week for curvy girls. I have been having a few computer technical difficulties, so, I missed out on some of the curvy fashion juiciness. However, in case you missed out too, here’s a mini recap of what’s going on in the curvy girl community.
BETH DITTO FOR EVANS
Beth Ditto kills with another EVANS collection. I love that Beth brings out her feminine side with a draped pocket floral dress and heart print bubble skirt and hanki hem top. I also love the adorable polka dot dresses and the ruched maxi dresses.
An Open Letter To Target
Also this week the curvy girls Marie Denee (The Curvy Fashionista), Patrice (Afrobella) Sarah Conley (Style IT) are asking the curvy community to participate in petitioning Target to do a plus size designer collection. It all started with Marie Denee’s letter (which you can read on her blog). This is such an awesome idea and opportunity to have all of our voices heard. I myself have worked retail since I was 17 years old. I’ve always made it a point to put in my two cents about adding plus sizes to some of the brands I worked for. So, I for one am all for this petition and this movement. Please do your part and sign so your voice can be heard. Sign the petition HERE
Last but not least, curvy girls now have another style website just for them. Style 369 is a new online fashion destination for curvy girls to find the latest and the hottest in plus size fashion starting from sizes 14-26. These are two of my favorite pieces.
Well, that’s it for SC’s recap. Have a great weekend.
Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Word on the street is that Full Figured Fashion Week will be coming to LA this Fall. I had the pleasure of attending FFFWEEK here in NYC and it was an awesome experience. FFFWEEK is like a sisterhood. It’s an event filled with beautiful women and beautiful voluptuous bodies all supporting each other in a world that wishes we would go away. FFFWEEK doesn’t miss a beat. You will see some of the best designers in the plus size industry.
If you are in the LA area or will be able to travel there, please be sure to support this event.
Full Figured Fashion Week(end)™ L.A. will bring a fashion-filled three-day weekend brimming with information, inspiration and great clothes to aspiring plus-size models, designers and consumers. An exciting line-up of panels and events will be capped off with a full-scale fashion showcase hosted by Full Figured Fashion Week™ creator and executive director, Gwen DeVoe. The search for designers and models has already started–but there are still opportunities for plus-size designers and models. Says DeVoe: “We’re looking for new faces and new looks that will really wow the crowd. This a celebration of curvy bodies, so we’re looking for designers who know how to show them off best. We want designs that will accentuate, not hide, our plus-sized selves.”
